Megan Sidwell (NZ), plus special guests the Iain Archibald Band, are bringing their show to Tamworth Country Music Festival 2016. Held at the South Tamworth Bowling club on the 23rd of January (10am-1pm), this contemporary Country/Rock show is something not to be missed!

Megan Sidwell embodies the perfect balance of an edgy, chuck-wearing rocker with the pure heart of a country belle. Her music forms a unity between the sensibilities of rock and country pop. Her songs bleed infectious pop hooks and country harmonies, with an edge and a dramatic overtone uniquely her own.

Sidwell's musical identity has been shaped over the years by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Pat Benatar, Hayley Williams and Dave Grohl, while the gentler side of her craft pays homage to pop sensations, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.

Born in Tauranga, New Zealand, this young starlet won the Smokefree Rockquest Regional heats' Female Musicianship award twice over in 2007 and 2008.

Sidwell's debut 5 track EP, Forever on a Sunday, was released in October 2013. Produced and mixed by the multi-talented Ben King (Goldenhorse), the EP also features the likes of Nick Gaffaney (Cairo Knife Fight) on drums and Janek Croydon on pedal steel.

In 2014, Megan graduated with a Bachelor of Music from The University of Auckland.

Recently relocated to Melbourne, Megan has already released a music video (Forever on a Sunday), a crowd-funded single (Never Saw it Coming) and a new band so far in 2015. Sidwell is at present writing for her debut album.

Iain Archibald Band

The Iain Archibald Band is a fresh, exciting & entertaining 'Country-Rock' 4-piece hailing from Melbourne, Australia.

The band's style has been likened to artists such as Keith Urban, Zac Brown, Bryan Adams & The Eagles.

The band released it's debut 7-track EP 'Dirty' in August 2013 to positive acclaim and received air play in both Australia and the USA. To promote the release Iain took his full band to play 50 shows & covering 17,000+km's in a year, playing regional & inner city venues across Victoria & NSW; such as The Forum Theatre, Federation Square & The Gershwin Room.

In Janurary 2015 Iain & his band released their second EP 'New Life,' which caught the attention of many Australian DJ's & audiences alike. They played 11 shows at the Tamworth Country Music Festival & gained a reputation for being a "highly energetic & rocking country band, with great original music." The video clip for New Life (The first single off the new EP) is currently on CMC.
