PBS & The Spotted Mallard Presents:
Mallard Movies November: Sticky Carpet
presented by Michael Mulholland (Junkyard)
and Phil MacDougall (Sunglasses After Dark)
with filmmaker Mark Butcher

In the next edition of Mallard Movies, Junkyard and Sunglasses After Dark present a FREE screening of Sticky Carpet to celebrate the documentary's ten year anniversary.

Michael Mulholland and Phil MacDougall will kick the evening off at 7pm with some tracks for you to enjoy over some food and brews, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Mark Butcher at 8pm, before the film starts at 8:30pm. The Spotted Mallard makes great food and opens from 4pm, so why not get down early for some dinner and a few drinks in the lead-up?

Sticky Carpet is a documentary about the thriving Melbourne music scene. It explores the drive behind local musicians, and recognises the importance of local community radio stations which have fostered the scene through their ongoing support. As Butcher admits, the whole thing started "over a beer at the Rob Roy watching some bands".

This raw and vital filmed souvenir interviews the musicians currently leading the charge, today's sonic explorers such as Robin Fox and Rod Cooper, and Melbourne scene stalwarts including Ross Knight (Cosmic Psychos), Bruce Milne (founder of Au-Go-Go Records, In-Fidelity Records) and Roland S. Howard (Boys Next Door, The Birthday Party). A veritable roll call of live performance footage comes from the likes of The Dirty Three, The Stabs, Bored!, I Spit on your Gravy, The Sailors, Love of Diagrams, Pisschrist and many more.

The screening is FREE entry for all, and PBS members receive a free pot of Thunder Road beer or glass of Cake wine on entry! Members also receive a 10% discount on food and drinks all night, so don't forget your membership card.

Email membership@pbsfm.org.au if you'd like to receive information about upcoming Mallard Movies.

Junkyard and Sunglasses After Dark present Sticky Carpet on Wednesday, November 30 at the Spotted Mallard, 314 Sydney Road, Brunswick. DJ sets from Michael Mulholland and Phil MacDougall and dinner from 7pm. Q&A at 8pm and screening at 8:30pm. Screening time 76 mins approx.
