Mal Eastick Band & Friends Play and Sing The Blues: Mal Eastick Blues Band, with John Makey & Milena Barrett on vocals + Ron & Jeff King from The Foreday Riders + All-Star Jam.

A special Sunday evening of Blues featuring the exceptional electric Blues guitar talent of Mal Eastick and his Blues Band, together with his friends Ron & Jeff King from the fabulous Foreday Riders, and the wonderful blues vocals of John Makey and Milena Barrett. A unique feature of this show will be Mal Eastick's pivotal role, not only will he host the show and perform with his band in the main set, he will start the evening off in a duo set with John Makey, then jump up with the King Brothers in their set, and at the end of the night he'll lead an enormous all-star jam!

For this show Mal has put together a special Blues Band, based on the solid rhythm section from legendary Australian electric Blues band, The Foreday Riders, Stan Mobbs on bass, and Rosscoe Clark on drums. Together they provide the smooth, swinging, yet rock-solid feel essential to electric Blues. As a very special treat, for the first time ever on the same bill, he has invited his two favourite vocalists, John Makey and Milena Barrett. John is a natural big-voiced singer, who has been working with Mal for the past 20 years, including his legendary Spirit Band, while Milena was the vocalist in Mal's band that competed in and made the semi-finals of The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA in 2014. A highlight of that trip saw them record at the legendary Sun Studios in the footsteps of Elvis and Johnny Cash.

Mal Eastick is widely considered to be Australia's finest electric Blues guitarist, with a passionate, explosive and soulful style that has been featured with many leading International and Australian acts for over 40 years. He has played with the likes of Robert Cray, Los Lobos, Buddy Guy, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Johnnie Johnson, Joe Walsh, Junior Wells, Eric Burdon & The Animals, Tommy Emmanuel, Jimmy Barnes, Kevin Borich, and many more.

Mal's early career was epitomised by his time with legendary band, The Stars, and his work on the Andy Durant Memorial concert and album. The Stars achieved significant national success during the mid to late 1970s and toured in support of such acts as Joe Cocker, Linda Ronstadt, and The Beach Boys. One of the bands many career highlights was being part of "The Concert of The Decade" on the steps of the Sydney Opera House to an estimated 120,000 people in 1979.

In the 1980s Mal played guitar in the Jimmy Barnes Band, featuring on Jimmy's first two solo albums, 'Bodyswerve" and 'For The Working Class Man'. He also formed his own touring outfit, releasing two highly acclaimed albums, 'Southern Line' and 'Spirit'.
