Mad Racket is back at the Bowlo with another action-packed New Year's shindig, offering an Inner West Musical Oasis with two extra special guests. Avoid the mobs watching the loud flashing colours and usher in 2014 with a tasteful soundtrack. 

On his first trip to Australia, Big Strick comes representing the true vibe of Detroit. Having grown up in the '70s listening to P-Funk and Motown sounds, he was introduced to house and techno via Jeff Mills' (at the time known as The Wizard) radio show, and was attracted to the sounds coming out on Chicago's Trax Records and Detroit's Metroplex. Getting into DJing in the '80s, he began putting on parties around Detroit. Patrice Scott and his little cousin Omar S would tag along sometimes. In the '90s family commitments took over, but more recently Strick has returned to producing and DJing, putting out a string of releases on cuz Omar's FXHE imprint, and his own 7 days Entertainment. Strick brings the new school Detroit sound with an old school attitude.

Claire Morgan is a name familiar to most Australian house and techno aficionados, although we have had little chance to hear her over the past few years due to her relocating to Berlin. Claire's commitment to and love of music is unquestionable, and she is dedicated collector and player of vinyl as well as an accomplished producer. We're looking forward to finally getting Claire to strut her stuff under the copper ceiling!

Joining these two heavy hitters will of course be The Racketeers, back at the spiritual home of Mad Racket. Sounds will be conveyed via the Bowl-O-Sonic sound system for maximum enjoyment.
