A musical prodigy at a young age, he progressed through the piano grades at a swift rate and with a progressive music teacher at his side he soon discovered the sounds of Jazz Fusion, sounds that would later influence him as an artist and visionary. By the time the 80's had rolled along, Bukem had discovered the joys of clubbing and by 1990 he had established himself as a DJ.

Having pushed the sound of Drum & Bass in new and exciting directions, all while maintaining his roots not losing sight of his original vision to begin with, LTJ Bukem has continued to be an icon not simply within the world of Drum & Bass but with the music world as a whole.
