Event Details

The Kings of underground UK Grime duo Krept & Konan have announced shows in Sydney and Melbourne for January 2017.

The duo otherwise known as "Play Dirty" are two influential grime artists hailing from South London who are killing the UK underground scene.

The dynamic rap duo effortlessly fuse together hip hop, grime, trap and even some R&B to create a diverse project that has continuously pushed them further into the spotlight.

Krept & Konan's success has largely been off their own back with their mixtape Young Kingz becoming a huge chart success considering that it was unsigned, and their street single "Don't Waste My Time" went viral in January 2014. Artists to remix the track include French Montana, Wretch 32, Chip and Stormzy.

Their debut album 'The Long Way Home' was released in 2015, preceded by the singles "Certified" featuring the boss Rick Ross and the chart hit "Freak of the Week" featuring Jeremih.

The album was named no. 2 on the UK album charts and also features collaborations from Wiz Khalifah, Ed Sheeran, YG, Jeremih, Emeli Sande and Skepta.

Krept & Konan's are also known for their politically charged track "Dunya" which appears on the soundtrack to a new British film Brotherhood. The track starts off with the duo watching Alton Sterlings death on TV and what comes after is an unveiling of a story of what would happen if the tables were turned.

Recently they dropped a remix with MoStack with a track called 'Liar Liar' featuring J.Hus.

"It's clear to see that Krept & Konan are seeing their status grow each week," Earmilk.

"It's in tune with the music: hard-edged rhymes over slow, austere production that takes cues from trap and dancehall as well as grime," The Guardian.

"With dramatic, intense strings and slow, ponderous beats over detailed and introspective storytelling, this is UK hip-hop in a post-Drake world," Clash Magazine.
