The fashion industry is a big problem in the world: it's worth 1.5 trillion dollars per year, it's the second most polluting industry in the world after oil, and it's responsible for countless human rights violations.

Unlike other big problems in the world however, the fashion industry affects us every day: when we stand pantless, in front of the many pairs of pants in our wardrobe, complaining we don't have any pants; when we go swimming and discover the elastic in our on-trend bikini isn't as robust as it should be; or when our so-hot-right-now denim flares become so-not-hot-right-now denim flares before we even have the chance to look hot in them.

So, the big problems in the fashion industry cause little problems for everyone who wears clothes. Killer Clothes: How to Stand Up to Fast Fashion is about discussing the problems with the fashion industry as well as the solutions we can all apply to our shopping habits. Ethicist Sascha Callaghan, renowned Australian designer Celeste Tesoriero, General Manager of Patagonia Australia, Dane O'Shanassy, and Brand Manager of Cue, Kate Bielenberg, will discuss the problems, the ways they are solving them, and the solutions we can all adopt to stand up to fast fashion. Come along if you want to hear leaders of the fashion industry unpack complex environmental and ethical issues; if you want to learn about how consumers make decisions and how consumer habits can be changed; or if you just really like a good, old-fashioned, in-depth discussion about a really interesting topic. You remember those, right?

If you need any more convincing, there will also be goodie bags.
