The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden is proud to present Kate Miller-Heidke at our annual 'Garden Grooves' gig in the Garden event. Performing in the beautiful Formal Garden this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear multi-award winning singer/songwriter Kate's stunning voice in the spectacular surrounds of the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden.

Kate won many awards as a classically trained singer but shot to fame with her move to alternative-pop. She released a trilogy of EPs from 2004-2006, Telegram, Comikaze and Circular Breathing, but it was Little Eve that landed in the upper reaches of the ARIA charts and earned the singer a host of accolades Her song 'Caught in the Crowd', a double-fisted tug of heartstrings between the gentle texture of the music and the recognisably real story of lingering childhood regret, shot her to greater heights. Kate and her husband and musical partner Keir Nuttall made history as the first Australians to win the prestigious International Songwriting Competition grand prize, with 'Caught in the Crowd' hand picked from more than 17,000 entries to woo judges including Tom Waits, The Cure's Robert Smith, Neil Finn and The Kinks' Ray Davies. Building on the unique vocal and performance dynamics learnt through early operatic training and a love of musical theatre,

Kate's live shows are as affecting, fun and memorable as her songs. Kate and her band have performed hundreds of shows in Australia in recent years, and Kate is now renowned for being one of Australia's finest live performers. A recipient of the Helpmann Award for Best Contemporary Concert, Kate is now right at home on stage. She is also making significant inroads abroad, and has played to large audiences in the UK, the USA, Spain, New Caledonia, Cambodia and Nepal. Kate is launching her new album 'O Vertigo!' on 14 March and will be setting off on a nationwide tour.

Her album is her first as an independent artist which she funded though a successful crowd-sourcing campaign. She is also donating five per cent of the proceeds of her new album to WWF's campaign to save the Great Barrier Reef. Don't miss this very special event on Sunday 9 March.
