Event Details

Jordie Lane returns to Australia, with his first full length studio album in 5 years, GLASSELLLAND (pronounced Glas-Hell-Land). A bold and adventurous record, that sees Lane extend his musical boundaries far beyond his pre-vious acclaimed Folk and Alt. Country sound.

Imagine Rufus Wainwright is drinking tequila with Neil Young. In walks Paul McCartney, arm in arm with Neil Finn discussing the demise of human connection, and you're drawing closer to the space that Lane inhabits in his creation of the fanciful world that is GLASSELLLAND.

To celebrate the Australian album release, Jordie Lane embarks on a National tour with the formation of his new band, The Sleepers.

...................

Lathered with lush and sometimes frightening sonic sounding landscapes, Jordie Lane tackles personal and world issues with at times tragic and vain, facetious delivery of heavy social themed lyrics. The record itself was written and produced solely by Lane with regular co-collaborator and in demand LA based Songwriter/Producer Clare Reynolds. They also took on the insane task of building 'Make shift' studios in several cities around the world and teaching themselves to double as the recording engineers and players of every single instrument on the album.

"Frederick Steele McNeil Ferguson, the first single from Lane's forthcoming third album, was recorded in Northeast LA in a studio that doubled as a kitchen. Its brooding, alt-country vibe is rocked-up even further. It and another new song suggest the album will push Lane well beyond his affable folk-country roots.

- The Music

Born to a comedian & a clown, Lane spent his early years in a traveling circus. His nomadic touring lifestyle and knack for comedic storytelling confirm the theory one is a product of their upbringing, but when you watch Jordie perform it is his incredible voice and rhythmic guitar playing that seem like they come from another place and another time.

It is a voice that has taken him around the world, performing major festivals in the US, Canada, UK and Australia, and touring with the likes of Billy Bragg, Old Crow Medicine Show, Neko Case, Cat Power, The Weakerthans, Mary Chapin Carpenter and The Moody Blues.

"Take pieces of Jeff Tweedy, Ron Sexsmith and Jackson Browne, melt them down in a beautiful crucible of music and you end up with Jordie Lane: a truly diverse folk musician"

FBI Radio

"A young man with an old soul and an honest sound, harkening back to Gram Parsons and Bob Dylan" - The Bluegrass Situation (USA)
