Music Against Wildlife Extinction

MORE INFO

Two legendary Australian rock outfits from the 70s and 80s Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons + The Sports come together for a co-headline show to cut the ribbon on the Zoo Twilights 2017 Summer Concert Series.

ARIA Hall of Famers Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons made their mark on the Australian music landscape with their unique blend of rock 'n' roll, soulful sax and reggae rhythms. The seminal band has performed only a handful of times since their zenith, so this one-off Twilight performance offers a rare opportunity to witness the classic Falcons. The perennial sax/vocal magician Joe Camilleri (aka Jo Jo Zep), searing guitars of Jeff Burstin and Tony Faehse, John "The Bass" Power, Wilbur Wilde on sax and Gary Young driving it sky-high from the drums.

Melburnian new-wave-meets-pub-rock group The Sports launched their career in 1978, spawning 13 singles in four years, including the hits 'Strangers on a Train', 'Who Listens to the Radio' and 'Don't Throw Stones'. The band had four 8albums reach the Top 40, and their acclaimed sophomore release Don't Throw Stones (1979) was ranked #51 in the 2010 book 100 Best Australian Albums.

Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons + The Sports will play Zoo Twilights in support of Zoos Victoria and their fight to save the Eastern Barred Bandicoot from extinction.
