It’s back! Two of Melbourne’s hottest guitar slingers, Jimi Hocking & Geoff Achison are bringing their celebrated Guitar Showdown show to The Spotted Mallard Friday April 27th.

With Geoff's red-hot Souldiggers band (Roger McLachlan, Gerry Pantazis & Richard Tankard) Jimi & Geoff will face off on stage trading riffs and swapping licks on a variety of rockin' blues, gutsy originals and guitar classics.

Jimi has been thrilling audiences with his astonishing guitar prowess for many years both locally and internationally. He won the 2003 'International Blues Challenge' in Memphis, USA and is currently touring the country as lead guitarist with Oz rock giants The Screaming Jets. Meanwhile he maintains a busy solo career playing brilliant one-man acoustic shows and rocking up the stage with his group, the 'Blues Machine'

Geoff has been a fixture on Melbourne's blues/roots scene since playing with veteran bluesman Dutch Tilders in the 90's. After several years with Dutch he pursued a solo career overseas and quickly made his mark winning the Albert King Award in Memphis 1995. His 2017 release 'Another Mile, Another Minute' scooped the pool at the Australian Blues Music awards winning in 5 categories. Geoff's April 27th appearance at The Spotted Mallard will be his very first Australian show since returning from an extensive 35 date UK Tour.
