East Coast hip-hop guru Jeru the Damaja is bringing his native Brooklyn sound to Oxford Art Factory on Thursday 13th September. A rapper, producer and label owner for over twenty years, Jeru has worked with a who's who of music legends such as Gangstarr and Groove Armada. In 1993 Jeru cemented his place in the hip-hop world with his debut The Sun Rises In The East (ranked as one of the 100 greatest hip-hop albums of all time) before taking things to a new level with the seminal album The Wrath Of The Math. His latest album Still Rising fuses years of life experience with dynamic production, taking his music to new heights.

Known for his 'hardcore conscious' style, Jeru takes the gritty truths of Brooklyn's streets to the world. Proclaimed as the 'saviour of hip-hop', the Damaja's brutal production and lyrics transcends the pretenders and sets him in the upper echelons of rap royalty.
