JamGrass Music Festival celebrates its 5th year this November and is kicking things off with a huge launch party at The Spotted Mallard on Friday, 6th November.

In tradition of the festival, the Friday night launch is always a high energy party, a reunion of musos, fans and regular festival goers who keep coming back year after year. This year's launch is headlined by Sydney band The Morrisons, Melbourne's own Scrimshaw Four and a rare appearance by The Ramblin' Roses who do their variety of classic songs by The Grateful Dead, The Band and other artists of that era.

Doors will open at 6pm for dinner with Music starting at 7pm. The Weeping Willows, Little Rabbit and Astro Cobalt (Adelaide) will get things going with their acoustic folk, old-time and bluegrass sounds.

With a lineup containing nearly 30 of Australia's best acoustic musicians, there are sure to be amazing collaborations and guest appearances.

With a smaller venue than the festival is used to, it is highly recommended people get tickets early. It's sure to sell out!

The Ramblin' Roses - A collective of Melbourne's finest bringing new life and enthusiasm to the music of The Grateful Dead and music of the era.

The Morrisons (Sydney) - The Morrisons fuse Australian stories and sounds with the spirit and intensity of old time American bluegrass, country and folk. With high, lonesome singing, fast picking and original songs inspired by folklore, family and their lives as young Australians, they are a modern day string band like no other.

The Scrimshaw Four - A high energy, jazz/bluegrass band featuring Banjo, Guitar, Violin and Double Bass. Their live show will make your feet fall off from dancing so hard.

Astro Cobalt (Adeliade) - A contemporary bluegrass four-piece from Adelaide making a rare melbourne appearance.

Little Rabbit - Kat Mear, Kim Wheeler and Pete Fidler make up Little Rabbit, originally getting together with a passion to play an unconventional mixture of Bluegrass, Old Time and Americana musical styles.

The Weeping Willows - Andrew Wrigglesworth and Laura Coates are a couple of old souls, steeped in bluegrass tradition and draped in gothic Americana imagery. That kind of description might make them sound like some carefully contrived concept-act but there's something truly different about The Weeping Willows: they really mean it.
