In 1947 David and Satin opened a lovely speakeasy 'Sugar and Spice'. However the world soon fell on tough times.....The club was exactly their dream coming true, but it was struggling. The dream child of Satin and David was always going to be a hard slug, but it was their passion...

 They wanted to create a place to be taken into and absorbed, into a reality so far from the commonplace of the era. The acts they brought in were sensuous, ground breakingly innovative, and everybody wanted to be there from the very beginning.
