A photographic journey on and beyond the stage. Photographer Ian Laidlaw has seen the biggest and brightest through his viewfinder for over a decade. Starting small and not knowing what was to come, the years and images piled up to create a portfolio most would envy. Whether it's photographing for a festival like Splendour in the grass, or a magazine like Rolling Stone, Ian has treated each artist with the respect they deserve . Carefully creates images that capture the true personality, it's a game of patience and practice. Having shot thousands of artists in Australia and around the world, Ian is found in only 3 places these days... In the pit, in the studio and on the road. The upcoming exhibition is a look into the work over the last few years in Ian's career. With images ranging from Iggy Pop to Leon Bridges, this exhibition will show not only the unpredictability of live performances, but the quiet moments before and the more organised side of portraiture.
