Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (USA)

With Zillanova and DJ Lyndelle Wilkinson

Blood brothers from the south side of Chicago, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are the seven sons of jazz great Phil Cohran. The "Bad Boys of Jazz" spend most of their time on the road touring and have brought the brass with greats including Prince, Mos Def, Mick Jones (The Clash) and Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), to name a few. In demand, they have graced the stages of Coachella, WOMADelaide, The Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall and more. The documentary Brothers Hypnotic explored their music, work ethic, life and experience being raised by a jazz legend father. Their song War exploded in the blockbuster film The Hunger Games.

Support on the night comes from a group blessed with copious amounts of raw talent and creative intelligence, Zillanova, Melbourne's most elusive soul act fronted by Joshua Tavares alongside collaborator and HopeStreet Recordings founder/producer Bob Knob. PBS 106.7FM presenter DJ Lyndelle Wilkinson (Afterglow) will be lighting the way with tunes sure to make you feel good and get you in the mood.
