Astral People are proud to present Brooklyn-via-Cologne's How To Dress Well as our first international guest to enter the Astral Galaxy.
On his first ever Australian Tour, How To Dress Well aka Tom Krell will bring his brand of unique reverb-soaked ethereal glo-fi r&b to Goodgod Small Club on Wednesday 7th December with special guests Wintercoats (performing a half originals/R&B covers set), Albatross and DJs Preacha and The W...edding Ring Fingers.
Impressing critics with the release of his album 'Love Remains', a concoction of disarming beautiful vocals, reverb-drenched falsetto and bone-rattling, sparse percussion, Pitchfork awarded 'Love Remains' an 8.7 and How To Dress Well was named in Stereogums Best New Bands of 2010.
Having played around the world at the likes of Sonar Festival, Roskilde Festival, OFF Festival and sold out headline tours of Europe and North America, How To Dress Well will grace the intimate surrounds of Sydney's Goodgod Small Club, to perform his abstract R&B compositions. A unique exploration of voice and sound that transgresses typical expectation about song structure to evoke enthralling images of what is left of love after it is broken, and how to find in ourselves those places and moments where love remains.
Currently signed to Tri-Angle records, recently named the #1 indie label of the year by the American Billboard. How To Dress Well, will create the sounds of 'Love Remains' in a live setting, bringing his intensity and emotional ambiguity to the foreground for what is sure to be a spellbinding show.
