(Indie Shuffle) Following lauded performances on their sold-out national headline tour in support of debut release The Pacific EP, singles Impossible Like Youand House Of Cards both receiving high rotation on triple j and critical acclaim, Holy Holy are proud to announce the release of their third single History, and their own national headline tour throughout October and November - The HISTORY Tour. History came about in a serendipitous studio moment during the House Of Cardsrecording sessions. As vocalist Timothy Carroll says, "...the bed for History was recorded in a session that very nearly didn't happen". During a break in recording, the band started playing an idea that had previously been little more than voice memo, recorded on telephones and relayed between band members via SMS. Although they had never before played the idea together in the same room, something clicked. Says guitarist Oscar Dawson: "Thankfully, mics were set up and Matt (Redlich, Producer) was nearby - so, against our more controlling instincts, we went along with it. Within the space of half an hour we had not only nutted out the structure of the song, but we had also recorded it on to tape." Carroll adds; "...The entire drum track, lead guitar and rhythm guitar are all recorded live in one take in one room. We later overdubbed the vocals, synth and bass parts". Holy Holy have surpassed everyone's expectations with their debut EP, and they have now delivered yet another stand out single, and can't wait to get out on the road.
