Purveyors of future soul Hiatus Kaiyote are bringing their unique, kaleidoscopic sounds to the lush surrounds of Melbourne Zoo. Joining them is disco minimalist Harvey Sutherland and his live trio Bermuda.

Since their formation in 2011, Hiatus Kaiyote have broken new ground for Australian soul music on the international stage. They are the first Australian act to be nominated for an R&B Performance Grammy - once for their 2013 single 'Nakamarra' and again in 2015 for 'Breathing Underwater'. They have received co-signs from the likes of Erykah Badu, Questlove and the late great Prince. In the last year, they have been sampled by three of hip hop's modern greats: Anderson Paak, Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

Hiatus Kaiyote will be headlining at Zoo Twilights for the first time, playing material from their debut album 'Tawk Tomahawk' (2013) and acclaimed follow-up 'Choose Your Weapon' (2015).

After a year of gracing Europe's festival stages, Melbourne's own Harvey Sutherland returns with what The Guardian describes as "full-tilt, lasers-hitting-glitterball mayhem". Sharing the name of his breakout single, Bermuda is the live band - a futurist outfit comprising Melbourne musicians Graeme Pogson (drums) and Tamil Rogeon (electric strings) alongside Sutherland himself (synthesizers). The trio perform with flair and relentless consistency, and are set to transform the Zoo Twilights stage into a club with their soulful dance music.
