Event Details

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. King Hamlet has died and the queen has remarried with his brother. Rebel forces swell and war threatens. And the young prince Hamlet is visited by the ghost of his dead father. The ghost brings news that his death was not natural, as believed, but "murder, most foul" - and, with it, the command that young Hamlet must avenge his death.

Hamlet is Shakespeare's most celebrated and well known play, and The Sydney Shakespeare Company tackles this monumental tragedy in an intimate and iconic setting - Sydney harbour's most historic island, Fort Denison.

Experience Shakespeare as never before. With audience numbers strictly limited to 15 per show, this is an immersive theatrical experience that will transport you to another time and place and engage you in the story.
