Inspired by the thoughts and worries that woke her at 3am, Hailey Calvert's much anticipated fourth CD release, 'In the Hour of the Wolf' has a cinematic sound featuring her most mature songs to date. Considering herself to be a 'blues singer who writes folk songs', Hailey stretches her legs in the new album with producer Brett Shaw playing around with genres making the album a darker, grander affair than her previous releases.

Over her years in the industry, music has taken Hailey to London, New York and Ireland, to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre singing backing vocals for Michael Bubl , and been shared all over the internet when British artist Passenger posted one of her videos to his Facebook page.

Hailey's sincere song writing style saw her take out the blues category in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition. With over 18,000 entries from 20 countries, it was a huge honour to be a winner alongside fellow Australians in other categories including Meg Mac and Birds of Tokyo.

'In the Hour of the Wolf' swings from dreamy string arrangements to straight heartfelt blues. Hailey considers her albums and EPs 'diaries of the time in which they were written', making each one a very personal project. She is extremely eager to perform the new material to audiences when the album release tour kicks off in October.

Hailey will be joined at The Toff by two breathtaking Melbourne singer/songwriters. The beautiful and intimate story telling of Coby Grant, and the soulful voice and playful ukulele of Al Parkinson.

"Hailey's honest song-writing and emotive, yet flawless delivery draws the listener in like few others can achieve. She creates a connection between performer and audience I've rarely witnessed." - Colin Thompson, Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival Director.
