"Interpretational flexibility, with pop facing sensibility retained, all representative of an artist rapidly honing her craft." - Rolling Stone

In February 2016, 18 year old Gretta Ray made an impressive entrance to the Australian music scene with the release of her debut EP 'Elsewhere', showcasing an enviable command of language and impressive vocal ability due in no small part to her vast experience singing in choirs since the age of five.

A creative individual who is as comfortable behind the camera as she is behind the guitar, Gretta Ray confesses to a fascination with human emotion and an irrepressible desire to express herself.

Gretta's latest single 'Drive' is a heavenly slice of cleverly constructed indie pop with a discernible air of country. Gretta flexes further than ever before lyrically, firmly establishing herself as one of the most exciting new artist of 2016.

'Drive' was produced by award winning composer Jonathan Dreyfus in collaboration with Nashville based Australian music producer Josh Barber (Gotye, Archie Roach) before being mixed by acclaimed US producer Ryan Hewitt (Sheryl Crow, Angus & Julia Stone).

In 2016, Gretta Ray toured as a performing member of Japanese Wallpaper's live band on his national 'Cocoon' single tour and supported Vera Blue in three sold out Melbourne shows, all while completing her final year of high school in Melbourne's inner north.

Gretta Ray's intriguing way of combining lyrical complexities that express personal feelings of love and heartache, with tongue in cheek facetious anecdotes, is only part of what makes this young talent so unique.

Gretta Ray's music is ageless.
