Already announced on the extensive Easter festival run including West Coast Blues & Roots, Bluesfest and Deni Blues, Chugg Entertainment can now confirm that the one and only Grace Potter & The Nocturnals will be performing a very special, one-off headline showcase at Oxford Art Factory on Wednesday 23rd April, with special guest, Foy Vance.

This visit will mark the Vermont rock outfit's second tour of Australia following rave reviews after an unprecedented reception from their festival performances last year at West Coast and Bluesfest. Though relatively unknown to many at the festivals, it was widely recognized that their performance outshone some of the larger stars on the bill, with the Sydney Morning Herald stating, "With stagecraft somewhere between Iggy (Pop) and Bettye (LaVette), Potter played like she was trying to stop her ''flying V'' guitar from taking off. She drew the audience in through her curtain of hair, the quintessential hot rock chick, but sexier still was the band's music, a swaggering brand of hooky, hard-driving blues-rock delivered at volume."

The release of their latest album The Lion The Beast The Beat sees Grace and the boys streamline their vintage signature sound, with a bunch of songs that are, just as the title suggests, powerful, pitch perfect stories. The album was produced by Potter as well as Jim Scott (Wilco, Tedeschi Trucks band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), and Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) who also co-wrote three songs, the swampy Loneliest Soul and the album's most melodic sing-along tracks and first single Runaway as well as Never Go Back. Live, Potter's sultry vocals, rock chic flying V guitar and keys combine the vintage sound that reminds you of songs you listened to on your parents' car radio, with electric energy that makes you want to get on the soles of their feet and dance til dawn. This unbeatable combination has lead to USA Today calling her; "The best female rock singer in the country." The tour will also coincide with the digital release of a new EP, titled GPN.

Warming the stage will be Irish troubadour Foy Vance. Hailing from the outskirts of Belfast, as a child Vance relocated to Oklahoma in the US. The son of a travelling church minister, he spent time exploring the American South; an experience that found his music horizons broadened, exposed to all manner of musical and social influences. Returning to Ireland some years later, Foy began writing his own music, deeply shaped by the sounds of his youth. After a recent session with Daytrotter, they described Vance's songs and lyrics: "They will haunt you with light. They'll haunt you with pangs of love. They'll haunt you with the tears of others. They'll make you realize that you've never felt anything even as remotely deep as he has." Recorded in Donegal, Ireland, his debut Joy Of Nothing includes 10 original songs written and performed by Foy Vance with very special guest appearances by Ed Sheeran and Bonnie Raitt, both artists he's toured extensively with. On this, his second tour of Australia in 6 months, Vance will also be playing at Bluesfest.
