2012 has already been an amazing year for Australian blues/roots guitarist Geoff Achison.

In March he began a 4 month campaign in the USA promoting the re-release of his 2005 watershed album 'Little Big Men'.

"I was thrilled to know there was still interest in that record. We took the opportunity to give it a little sonic boost in the mastering and also to fix a couple of small goofs that had always bothered me. It's got a beaut new artwork now too so we're stoked!"

The tour kicked off in fine style with Geoff performing in New York City with acclaimed musician/songwriter Randall Bramblett. They sold out their Terra Blues Club gig and Geoff was later invited onstage at the Beacon Theater with the legendary Allman Brothers Band. The YouTube footage of this performance was pounced upon by fans and Geoff went on to be voted the #1 Favourite Guest Artist over the Allman Brothers' 2 week New York residency.

Geoff has been a fixture on the Aussie blues/roots scene since playing with the great Dutch Tilders' Blues Club group in the 1990's. He now maintains a busy international schedule visiting the USA, UK and Germany performing either his popular Solo Acoustic show or with various line-ups of his Souldiggers group.

He returns to Hobart Aug 19th performing his acoustic show. It's an eclectic set of blues, folk and funk styles which typically leaves fellow guitar players somewhat aghast at his natural technique whilst thrilling the rest of his audience with fun arrangements of old blues and rock standards, beautiful ballads and soulful original tunes. With such a rich history of travelling the world you might be treated to a tale or two from the road as well!
