Remember Melbourne's electronic percussive experimenters Rat vs Possum? They made the floor tom cool back in 2008, released two EPs through Sensory Projects, toured extensively in Australia and New Zealand, flirted with the festival circuit one summer playing Meredith Music Festival, Laneway Festival, Camp A Low Hum, once bubble-wrapped the entire of the Workers Club and left an obnoxious wake of glitter in their path until breaking up after an implosion in 2012. L

BUT! They're friends again and the original four are getting back together with the help of a bunch of guests to play a very special, one-off reunion / 'farewell' show to tie up loose ends at Howler in Melbourne on Sunday 1st November (Cup Eve Eve). Joined by friends new and old including DJ sets by Ara Koufax, LA Pocock, MDMA (Melbourne Dance Music Association and live performances by Simona Castricum, Fox Pflueger and MC Nevena Spirovska.

Rat vs Possum founding member Matt Kulesza created a Facebook event in 2010 titled 'Future Party in the Future,' in honour of the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown visit 2015 in 'Back to the Future II.' The event sat in bemused attendee's 'Upcoming Events' list for five years and now the time has come to actually organize said party and Rat vs Possum are reuniting to celebrate.

While admittedly not on the actual date, (Wednesday night party logistics in the too-hard-basket, so Matt's having chill drinks for Back to the Future fans at his house then), Future Party in the Future is a Facebook event five years in the making, features some of Melbourne's legit best DJs and electronic artists and is literally the only show Rat vs Possum will ever play, ever again. Also, come celebrate the fact that we get a four-day weekend and fact that you're a good human who understands that horse racing totally sucks.
