Event Details

Melbourne's chaotic Audio/Visual two piece friendships are celebrating the release of their Debut LP 'Nullarbor 1988-1989' with two massive shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The highly anticipated debut, released by Dot Dash / Remote Control and US label Mansion Records, comes packaged as an impressive double disk 12" vinyl in custom 'friendships Gutter Death Red'. The first physical from the duo includes original hand painted cover art by friendships and collaborations with Melbourne artists such as HABITS, thelovelyme, Yaw Faso, and Unsoundbwoy.

'The Nullarbor plain is the physical body of land that links Misha and I (Jerramungup, Western Australia & Footscray, Victoria), We have conceptually created an audio visual representation to the Nullarbor in 1988-1989 isolation.' - says Nic Brown of friendships.

'Sonically I wanted to draw from these ideas and set the listener in a scene, burning down the Nullarbor plain in a Holden V8, ciggie puffing out the window, running away from your life, the road folding around you like a blanket."

The album includes past releases such as 'When I Feel Like Killing, I Murder' and 'Pedal To The Metal' plus upcoming singles 'Spit::Flesh::Splinter ft HABITS' and the too-soon-surely 'The Roof', detailing the near-death experience which almost put a fatal end to the act during their CMJ Showcase Tour in New York last year.

Joining friendships is experimental electronic artist Null, releasing his latest EP 'Archived Works Vol. 1' as a limited edition (only 150 available) cassette tapes each with exclusive access to downloadable content consisting of personal photos, videos, project files and unreleased remixes/edits that provide a unique insight into the artist's studio process.

Also appearing on the night are Melbourne's soul distorting electro-punks HABITS, industrial RnB innovator Marcus Whale and Sydney locals Phondupe and LOW TON.
