Mandacaru are back on stage!
Mandacaru play the swirling dancefloor music from the northeast of Brazil known as Forró and the sounds of Festa Junina (samba's folkloric brother and Brazil's month long June Winter festival).
This is 'true school' Forró lead by singer and accordion player- Phillipe 'sanforneiro' Alves and Maracatu Estrela Do Mar founder/Melbourne Festival Cultural Ambassador/Casa de Roboco (Melb forr night) founder - Seu Antonio.
Mandacaru play a raw and rare Forró, an earthy, organic, melodic sound featuring vocals, accordion and sizzling Brazilian percussion with a unique rhythmic pulse popular with Brazilians and dancers around the world.
