This event has passed and sales are now closed
All of your favourite party starters are coming together for a verrrry special dance indeed! (= Joining us on the 22nd of November, the incomparable/inimitable talents of mans like Floating Points, Alexander Nut and the 'Queen' Fatima for 5+ hours of late-nite retro-futurism as Eglo Records take over Perth's tidiest basement soundsytem for the very first timmeee!
Neuroscientist, analogue wizard & Eglo label boss Sam "Floating Points" Shepherd is also responsible for the imprint's very first release! His 'For You/Radiality' 7" sports two sticky-sweet hip hop head-nod grooves beneath gloriously psyched atmospheres; an incredible debut that announced the arrival of the hugely talented young producer to the world. While his first releases are often compared to early HudMo, Sam's recent productions feel genre-less in nature. Each new 12" more unpredictable than the last, warm and textured collages of past/present+beyond & gushed over by critics and fans time after time. When he isn't jumping on planes to kick up cosmic dust abroad, he runs a monthly "&" party @ the legendary London club Plastic People
As one of Rinse.FM's most celebrated and diverse DJs, Alexander Nut has carved his way into contemporary music and the clubland zeitgeist with his glimmering prism of genre-bending dancefloor music & a mixing style all of his own. The other half of Eglo Records, a label that has fast become a byword for eclectic quality and continues to push the boundaries of beat music, his regular slots at FWD, Plastic People, Deviation & Fabric along with the soaring popularity of his radio show let to his contribution (#8) to the infamous Rinse.FM mix series, a flawless journey through off-beat contemporary hip hop & soul, smothered in delicious analogue crackle
The one and only "Queen" Fatima Bramme Sey has lent her exquisite voice to a seriously diverse array of musicians, including LA bump-n-grind maestro Dam Funk, Ras G, Brainfeeder's Teebs & Dorian Concept. Born in Stockholm, Sweden but currently residing in East London, Fatima is a nomadic child of the universe, drawing upon life inspiration and energy in everything from LA freeways, London basements & the big blue sea. Most recently, she and Funkineven got their grind on to bring us the hyperventilating riddim of 'Phone Line', riding cool-as-you-like organ stabs and bashy snares to deadly effect. Put your trust in Fatima to keep toes tappin', hips dippin' & the party movin' as she blesses the mic while Alexander Nut and Floating Points take to the decks.
