Held at Chateau Apollo; featuring Ray Dalfsen (West Thebarton), Alice Fraser (Laneway Festival), Harry Moore (123 Agency) and Sian Walden (Little Acorn Music/Music SA) as panelists and Tom Gordon (West Thebarton/Horror My Friend/Music SA) as facilitator, the ideals and realities of modern Australian touring will be fleshed out and scrutinized by some Australia's most road-worn music industry professionals.

Facilitator:

Tom Gordon - Artist Manager/Touring Artist (Music SA/Horror My Friend/West Thebarton)

Panellists:

Ray Dalfsen - Touring Artist (West Thebarton)

Alice Fraser - Tour Manager/Touring Artist Liaison (Laneway Festival/Lunatic Entertainment)

Harry Moore - Booking Agent (123 Agency)

Sian Walden - Artist Manager/Tour Manager (Little Acorn Music/Music SA)

Summary:

The dream of every budding musician is the idea of life on the road; burning down the highway in a van filled with instruments, a few records and dirty tees to sell at the merch desk, maybe a few beers and your bandmates. In 2018, is this idea a reality? Or has it always been just a fantasy?

In this workshop, the realities of modern touring will be laid out for discussion from the perspective of the touring artist, along with the variety of industry professionals involved in making a tour successful, profitable and if not financially profitable, worthwhile in the long term.
