It's 1980, and college freshman Jake arrives on campus to take up his baseball scholarship. Over one long weekend of partying to a choice '70s soundtrack, Jake learns everything's a competition to his new teammates, from ping-pong to getting girls. Richard Linklater's shaggy comedy affectionately explores a nostalgic world of disco and punk, moustaches and polyester body-shirts.
