Event Details

Miss Jyoti Singh, a half Belgian - half Indian professional Jazz singer, brings her passions for all musical genres together in this soulful tribute to one of the greatest voices of her generation, Eva Cassidy. As diverse and eclectic as Eva Cassidy transformed the songs that she liked, so will Miss Jyoti Singh musically approach her brilliant and taunting arrangements in an intimate acoustic setting, accompanied by the very gifted jazz guitarist, Vinnie Miranda. You will be taken on an intimate journey through the story, the songs and the soul of Eva Cassidy, while musically flirting with folk, jazz, blues and gospel songs. Eva Cassidy's extraordinary voice, both distinctive of it's power and mysteriously brilliant, will be honoured through Jyoti Singh's pure and soul-moving voice which will make this a night to enjoy and to remember. Be inspired with a laugh and a tear, as her voice will touch your heart.

Eva Cassidy Tribute; a Soulful Journey

Artist

Miss Jyoti Singh is a half Belgian - half Indian professional Jazz singer with a Masters degree in Vocal Jazz. She graduated Cum Laude from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, Belgium, as a Jazz Vocalist and Vocal Teacher.

She travelled around the world as a Jazz singer starring in different Belgian bands, performing in cities like London, Berlin, New York, Milan and Adelaide. She has been a singer at the famous Scala Choir, performing on several well known festivals (e.g. SXSW, Texas, US) in numerous venues, and appeared on TV shows and radio stations across the globe.
With these bands, as for various musical projects, she lent her voice to numerous CD recordings. She was asked to sing on the soundtrack of a Belgian film and multiple Hollywood movies (e.g. soundtrack 'Wolven', soundtrack 'The Social Network').

In an artistic collaboration with her sister Dipika Singh, she founded 'The Singhing Sisters' in 2014, creating their first musical theatre show called 'The Singhing Sisters present: 'Opera meets Jazz'.
Dipika and Jyoti Singh are passionate about bringing their love for Opera and Jazz music together. In this musical theatre, clichés of Jazz and Opera singers are musically enlarged with a laugh and a tear on their search for love. This magical joint venture resulted in a number of successful performances across Belgium and Australia.

At the Adelaide Fringe Festival of 2016, both Sing(h)ing Sisters were being praised for their deep-rooted craftsmanship, their creativity and professionalism. Their theatre show was nominated on multiple occasions as 'a hidden musical gem that should be discovered'. At the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2017, she received a 4-star rating review from the Advertiser for her musical theatre production 'The Disney Diaries; a Comic Princess Tribute' in collaboration with the multi-talented Sanja Jovanovic.

Jyoti recently moved to Adelaide, performing at music festivals (e.g. Adelaide Fringe Festival), musically contributing her passion for the arts to fundraisings (e.g. Eye Play Sport), and on different occasions for the Rotary Club of Adelaide.
Thus far, she performed at the Adelaide Oval, the Entertainment Centre (e.g. Festival Event), the Festival Centre (e.g. BNI Leadership), the Adelaide Town Hall (e.g. The Singhing Sisters) and the Stamford Grand, where she performed and entertained the audience with her voice and presence as a musician in residence. Miss Jyoti Singh is ready to musically dazzle Australia, so do come along on her journey.
