Comprising entirely of original material "Dawn" is an electric collaboration between Emma Donovan and Melbourne's Instrumental Funk hipsters The Putbacks and features soulful stories of life, loss, ups, downs, reality and redemption. Emma's soaring vocals meet Feisty funk meets Sunday soul, meets urban soul cinema, bluesy ballads and a healthy dose of road trip rock influences.

Dawn is a gritty, uniquely Australian record, simultaneously classic and contemporary recorded in one room on eight channels of analog tape.

"Dawn" takes some cues from the burgeoning soul revival, but it's a far looser interpretation than many releases in the style. This is no attempt at reviving a bygone era. There's no horn section. There's more rock in there. There's more country in there. There's more, in Emma's words, "blackfella music" in there. The songwriting is more akin to classic Aboriginal bands like Coloured Stone than it is to Sharon Jones. Celebrating over 25 years behind the decks, Dewbury is one of the top DJ's on the circuit having performed in over 35 countries from New York to Berlin, Singapore to San Francisco, Auckland to Stockholm. One of the original UK black music DJ's Dewbury has run the longest running club session in the world. The Brighton 'Jazz Rooms' recognised as one of the most successful sessions in club history. Russ has also developed a solid reputation as Worldwide taste maker, Live music promoter, Record compiler and Radio broadcaster.

London based Jorge Montiel aka Boogieman is the Co-producer & founder of infamous Latin Funk band Los Charly's Orchestra. He has also worked in collaborations with some of the most prolific producers of the current scene including Pete Herbert, Trujillo, Jose Luis Pardo (Los Amigos Invisibles) & Joey Negro. Jorge regularly plays around the globe rocking some of the top party spots on the planet as well as holding down his many London residencies.
