Club Injury Handbook EP Launch - Sydney

Saturday 14th March 2015

10pm. Marrickville Bowling Club.

Some words about this show from Eugene: Last year I played a show at Marrickville Bowlo for my other project, Tuff Sherm, which went down as a highlight of the 2014 tour for the Plastic World release with Cassius Select.

In the meantime I've returned to my primary dance music alias, Dro Carey, with renewed vigour, and I was amazingly able to get together with London label Greco-Roman. About a month ago they released my new EP, Club Injury Handbook.

So far I've been blown away by the level and diversity of support all three songs from that release have received. It's been a landmark release for me: it marks the first time I've worked in a studio with vocalists (the amazing Chocolate and Kid Kairo on the "Monomiles" track), the first music video shot on location and whole lot of other 'firsts' as well probably. Now I'm heading back to the Bowlo to launch that EP. As you might know I don't do that many shows... so whether you've been bumping something from Vital Trails or just heard Mammal Tank on Triple J, now is the time to see what a Dro Carey show is all about, at a great lockout-free location with a fantastic bill of supports.

The supports, Mark Pritchard, Cliques, Preacha are honestly my dream line-up. It's an amazing thing when you are fortunate enough to share a stage with your friends and collaborators (Cliques and Preacha) as well as a legend like Mark, whose work has been extremely formative for myself and I imagine a lot of other young Australian producers as well. It's been a long journey getting this EP together and it would mean a lot to see the people that make up the scene it was borne of to come thru and celebrate its release!!
