Drawing: Exploring Line
6 x Tuesdays, 2nd May - 6 June 2017
6:30pm - 9pm
Tutor: Natalya Shinn
Intimate class size: maximum 10 students
Drawing slows you down. When you draw, you're taking the time to observe something truly and reproduce it. In the quiet space of drawing, you become very aware of form, proportion, and color. You come to understand light and shadow and how they reveal and define form.
Take a line for a walk in this course and explore all elements of the art of drawing. Learn the fundamentals of contour and structural drawing, record tone and texture, develop a range of mark making techniques and discover experimental drawing.
Throughout this 6-week course, artist Natalya Shinn will teach you how to develop your understanding of line, shape, and form and show you how to use a range of materials and techniques from pencils through to ink and wash. Whether creating simple line drawings or meticulously detailed renderings, you'll build your own observational and analytical skills and the confidence to tackle bigger drawing projects.
