Neptune Project

Neptune Project, a duo from Swindon, UK, burst onto the electronic scene when their second single, Aztec, was announced on BBC Radio 1 as 'tune of the summer,' by world number one DJ, Armin Van Buuren in July 2009. For six months previous, it had been played in every set in Armin's busy tour schedule, received 'tune of the week' in his worldwide popular radio show and was included in his successful 'A State of Trance' yearly CD compilation.

If the support during the summer wasn't enough, Aztec was then later announced by AVB as his 'tune of the year,' live on BBC Radio 1 and on his page as world number one DJ, in the pivotal November DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ's issue.

Signed to the record label of top 25 DJ duo, Aly and Fila, now under the ownership of AVB's 'Armada,' Neptune Project are consistently releasing productions which gain the support of some of the top DJs in the trance scene and have appeared on CD compilations such as the popular Ministry of Sound series including the No 1 selling 'Dave Pearce Trance Anthems' in the UK, Dream Dance in Germany and have been featured on the official 'Street Parade' compilation in Switzerland.

Neptune Project was formed in 2007 after best friends, Dan and Jules had spent several years enjoying the club scene of the UK, regularly visiting renowned clubs such as 'The Gallery' at Turnmills, 'Godskitchen,' Birmingham and 'Gatecrasher' in Sheffield. The feeling of hearing their favourite tracks inspired them to begin producing themselves. After investing in studio equipment and receiving frequent guidance and encouragement from friends Aly and Fila and Jono Grant (Above and Beyond), Neptune Project's first single was a collaboration with fellow Swindon producer Greg Spencer under his 'Triple Seven' alias. The track was called 'Arctic Moment,' signed to 'Breeze Recordings' in Germany and featured a remix from 'Activa,' the track found the playlist of Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and was shortlisted for Paul Van Dyk's 'Cream Ibiza' compilation as well as receiving heavy support from Van Dyk himself and many other DJs during the summer of 2008.

After the success of Arctic Moment, Neptune Project teamed with Triple Seven under the one name of Neptune Project & were given the opportunity to remix a massive club hit from 1999, Mike Koglin's 'The Silence,' which was originally a cover of Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy the Silence.' Koglin was so impressed with the remix, that he signed it to his label 'Noys' and re-released it. The track appeared on the Ministry of Sound 'Cream Ibiza Anthems' alongside many classics that the duo had been listening to for many years before.

The success of the remix allowed the duo to again remix for Koglin, this time on his collaboration with Above and Beyond's Paavo, on their track, 'Autumn,' which was released on 'Anjunabeats' in winter 2009. Shortly after this remix, due to personal commitments Greg Spencer left the project & the project continued with Dan & Jules producing.

With remix work also completed for 'Monster Tunes' and 'Armada,' Neptune Project began focusing on original material and in January 2010, they collaborated with another local producer, Luke Bond, on their third single, 'Atlantis,' featuring vocals from school friend, Polly Strange, who featured on Aztec. The track was signed to 'Future Sound of Egypt Recordings' and has been tipped as one of the tunes of the summer by label owners, Aly and Fila.

Due to the success of their modern take of 'The Silence,' the duo took it upon themselves to remix a few of their favourite classics with emphasis on tracks that have not already been remixed to death. After receiving permission from 'Goldenscan' to officially remix their classic 'Sunrise,' Neptune Project worked hard in the studio for many hours and upon delivery of the final mix, they received the word 'bomb' as a reply from 'Goldenscan' and Aly and Fila, who signed the track and is due for re-release later this year on 'Future Sound of Egypt.'

With these growing accomplishments, Neptune Project has had recent interest in collaborations with proven artists such as John O'Callaghan, Simon Patterson and close friends, Aly and Fila. They have had no shortage of remix requests and two new productions are close to completion, with a special remix of the amazing 'Accadia''Blind visions' also forthcoming. The duo have already begun their DJ career with gigs in Germany and the UK and look set to continue with more bookings lined up.

Matt Bowdidge

"One of the most consistent melodic Trance producers. His sound defines Trance" - Indecent Noise

Matt Bowdidge is quickly becoming one of the most recognisable and exciting new names in trance music today. Since bursting on to the international scene a few years ago, the Australian to UK import has been defining his sound of uplifting melodies, sublimely fused with pounding base lines, that has seen well deserved support from many of the world's most established producers and DJ's. As one of the most likeable, passionate and hard working artists in the scene right now, Matt has had multiple releases on numerous world renowned labels, which has seen him propel very quickly up the trance ladder.

Matt started his journey by opening a Discover Records account, delivering a stunning 2 track debut E.P, which "immediately caught the eye of the Discover A&R manager" Activa. 'Crossing North', a powerful journey of melodic sounds accompanied 'The Path' - the darker B side described by the label as a 'tougher track with a haunting ethereal vocal line'. With both tracks setting out to define Matt's sound, strong support followed by the worlds elite. It was no surprise that 'Crossing North' then featured on Armada Music's '2011 top 50 summer trance' complication, capping off an excellent first release.

Matt was then chosen to remix 'Tayrona' by Sly One vs Jurrane. Matt superbly crafted his own take on the track, again receiving huge support and even took a spot on Manuel Le Saux's 2011 compilation 'Underground Anthems 4'. It was soon clear why Matt was becoming a huge favourite.

Subsequently, Matt followed up with his next single 'Slip Back', which took things up a notch, grabbing the attention of the worlds number 1 DJ, Armin van Buuren, with a play on his radio show 'A State of Trance'.

Matt was then deservedly asked to mix the next 'Chapter Three' compilation album, which included a few cheeky reworks and edits, to celebrate Discover releases 61-80, an album that had seen the likes of 'Sly One vs Jurrane' and 'John Askew' as its previous successors.

With his unique sound starting to fill the speakers of Trance fans all over the world, Matt then followed up with 'No Room To Breathe' - one of his most eagerly awaited productions yet. The track didn't fail to deliver and as a result, was handed picked by one of the world's most respected Trance duos 'Aly and Fila' to feature on the 'Future Sound of Egypt Volume 2' album, lining up along other huge names such as Orjan Neilson, Bjorn Akesson, Arctic Moon and Orkedia. Subsequently, the track also found itself on the main playlist of Armin van Buuren's ASOT radio show twice as well as being dropped no fewer than 3 times at 2012's A State of Trance 550 celebrations in front of more than 50,000 worldwide clubbers.

All of this then set Matt up perfectly for his second compilation album, Volume 5 of the prestigious 'Underground Anthems' series. The album mirrors one of Matt's sets perfectly as it moves through the gears starting with a Matt Bowdidge intro rework of the blissfully anthemic "No Way Out" by Activa, building towards its harder tech based conclusion, paying accolade not only to Matt's ability to mix, but to his keen ability to program the perfect set.

Matt's also had numerous releases on Indecent Noises label 'Mental Asylum Records' with partner in crime Phil Taylor, under their 'Bowdidge & Taylor' moniker. With huge releases such as 'Power Cut', their remix of Bryan Kearney & Indecent Noise's 'Uncommon World', 'Firecracker' and 'As It Should Be', it's easy to see why these two world-class producers are making a huge stir in the scene. Becoming a huge favorite with Armin van Buuren and more of the scene's elite, these two seem to do no wrong. Summer 2013 sees a lot more from these two and also from Matt by himself, back on 'Mental Asylum Records' and also on the world class 'Monster Tunes' imprint.

2013 has already been a huge year so far for Matt, having toured Australia, Argentina, Poland, The Netherlands, Czech Republic and Spain. And with tours over the EU summer, in Scotland, Europe and the USA, it's safe to say Matt's in hot demand.

As well as his monthly 1 hour radio show 'Frequency', airing on Afterhours FM, 2013 is continuing to look to be a huge year for Bowdidge. With many more live performances, productions and collaborations hitting the scene soon, this is one artist that will be familiar to Trance fans across the globe.
