DEEP SEA ARCADE have spent the best part of the last year living in the UK, soaking up the culture and imparting some of their own as they lay down their sophomore record, quickly creating the same buzz in their temporary home of London which lead to them being one of Sydney’s most respected indie acts.

The new single 'Black Cat' is the first from the band's new album (slated for early 2014), the follow-up to their 2012 debut Outlands, the global success of which led to the band's extended sojourn to the UK. Recorded and mixed by Dan Grech-Margueray (Lana Del Rey, The Vaccines, Howling Bells, The Kooks), the band will return to Australia to celebrate Black Cat's release with a string of Australian capital city shows in September and October.

The group began as a songwriting and home recording project for founding members and school mates Nic McKenzie and Nick Weaver when they were in their mid teens. Using 4-track tape recorders, broadcast microphones and unconventional computer programs they created a sinister backdrop to contrast with their penchant for pop song structure and melody.  After years developing a large catalogue of demo recordings, McKenzie and Weaver banded with guitarists James Manson and Simon Relf along with drummer Carlos Adura, giving the music an energy and scope that was previously out of reach. Long awaited debut album Outlands had a worldwide 2012 release through Ivy League Records, with singles heavily supported in Australia by Triple J and FBI and in the UK by BBC 1, BBC 6, and XFM.

Aside from a sold out album tour across 1000-1500 cap venues in Australia's major cities and a spot on Australia s prestigious Big Day Out festival, the band have been on the road with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Charlatans, Girls, Kaiser Chiefs, Cloud Control and Modest Mouse. They have also toured the UK and Europe extensively, including appearances at Barcelona s Primavera Sound Festival, The Great Escape In Brighton, Liverpool Sound City, Berlin Independent Night, Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg and sold out shows in London.

After appearing at an impressive list of UK festivals earlier this year including Secret Garden Party, The Great Escape, Where The Wild Things Are (Netherlands) and Live At Leeds, Deep Sea Arcade will once again greet Australian audiences on the Welcome Home & Black Cat tour in September and October.
