Dark Psyde of the Moon II

Dark Psyde of the Moon is a night of psytrance brought to you by local Illawarra producers Satori, Virus Installer & friends.

Kicking off at 8pm and finishing at 11:45 this is 4 hours of non-stop thumping psytrance. Starting off with some bumping progressive psytrance and slowly getting more & more energetic before finishing with some lightning Hi-Tech, dance the night away with some moon shattering beats.

Itsu creates complex, forward-thinking drum and bass with a foundation in detailed, multi-layered sound design and a distinct science-fiction vibe. Spanning deep and moody halftime to metal-influenced, all out, neurofunk head-bangers, Itsu's music transcends the traditional borders of drum and bass.

After cutting his teeth on a range of lower tempo bass music genres over the course of five EP's released between 2012 and 2015 on labels such as Merkaba Music and Hopskotch Records, Itsu has returned to the genre that brought him to electronic music production in the first place, and has earned a reputation as a sound design and production perfectionist, as well as a consummate performer. With a steadfast refusal to conform to the DnB norm of "build, drop, rewind, build, double-drop" Dj sets that feature only a couple of original tracks, Itsu takes audiences on a journey through the flavours of drum and bass using live performance techniques and controllerism, and has a track record for setting dance floors on fire with a constantly evolving live show that never plays out the same way twice.

After four years of live performances on Australian festival circuit and countless club shows across the east coast, Itsu embarked on his first North American tour in 2015, with seven shows across five weeks, in three states. Since returning to Australia, Itsu has been locked in the studio exploring the worlds of modular synthesisers and DSP programming in the Kyma environment, and preparing his next body of work, with two DnB releases and one experimental, cinematic IDM release due in 2017.

Satori is Rory Satori, a producer currently based in Wollongong, Australia. Rory is best known for his Hi-tech psytrance but has recently started also experimenting with more eclectic/experimental sounds under the name Ogopogo. Satori has released with major labels worldwide and was integral in the first wave of Hi-tech in Australia during the mid 2000's. Catch him play his unique brand of hi speed psytrance

Da Wae is Matt Carroll, a hi tech psytrance producer/DJ born and bred in da gong, that has been showing people da Wae of the psytrance for over 15 years. He has released on record labels such as triplag, cosmic crew Khao and Australiacs under the banner of ouija and utone. He has performed at psychedelic parties such as dragon dreaming, rhythmic earth and many others In the Sydney area. His eclectic, high tempo, experimental sounds hit new heights every time and will deconstruct your concept of music and leave you with the one real question "what even is music".

Virus Installer is the alter ego for producer Andrew Gilholme. Independently releasing two highly successful albums and most recently playing Psyfari Festival. Virus Installer is heavily influenced by gypsy melodies, traditional folk tunes, and blues riffs. The music is jam-packed with dazzling, mind-twisting melodies and addictive bass lines. The aim, to capture the essence of super fun psytrance, kicking up dust at the best party you've ever been to. Every track is designed to have the listener on tenterhooks, reaching the end and turning right back around for more. Expect to be singing these melodies for days as they leave you hypnotized with delight.
