DANCIN TIME A FAREWELL TO KLONDIKE with The Hitmen & CD LAUNCH
HITMEN SAY AU REVIOR WITH KLONDIKE SEND-OFF AND ALBUM LAUNCH
Australia's own rock and roll soldiers the Hitmen are signing-off for now with a send-off show for guitarist Chris Klondike Masuak scheduled in Sydney on Saturday, November 13.
The gig - at the Jets Club at Tempe - will be the last for the Hitmen for the foreseeable future because Klondike is moving to Europe.
It will be the official opening of the Jets Club as a fully-fledged live music venue and the launch of a retrospective album of previously unreleased 1978 and '79 Hitmen material.
"Dancin' Time '78-79" is being released on Savage Beat through Shock.
The one-off Hitmen gig will wind up a successful 2010, marked by a national tour in tandem with Detroit punk diva Niagara and a landmark Sydney show marking their 31st year as a band.
Fittingly for a send-off, there's a big bill arranged for November 13.
Supports are reincarnated Sydney '80s inner-city denizens Decline of The Reptiles and hard-rocking garage-dwellers The Cool Charmers, boasting ex-members of The Johnnys, the Psychotic Turnbuckles and the Huxton Creepers.
The Hitmen stress they are not breaking up, but are only going on extended hiatus and have tentative plans for a fresh album in 2011.
Singer Johnny Kannis is recording his own debut album and is assembling a band for live dates in March '11.
Klondike will hit the road in France and Spain in February 2011 for a month-long tour fronting French band The Outside.
