Los Angeles doom folk artist Chelsea Wolfe tours Australia this November with Heirs (Victoria) & special Sydney guests The Holy Soul.
California native and Los Angeles based, Chelsea Wolfe has been creating doom-laden electric folk music since 2009. It was in that year she made her presence known as a singer/songwriter by touring Europe with a nomadic performance troupe playing music in various cathedrals, basements, galleries and old nuclear plants.
These experiences created a new inspiration in her which led to the 8-track recordings of her debut album "The Grime & the Glow," released on December 28, 2010.
With this new musical direction and drive, Chelsea made the defining move of relocating from Northern California to Los Angeles, and it was then that she finally entered an actual recording studio. These studio recordings led to the release of her critically acclaimed second album "Apokalypsis," released August 2011.
Since the release of Apokalypsis, Chelsea has found a new record label home and management with LA-based Sargent House (Russian Circles, Boris, Omar Rodriguez Lopez), bringing along her solid cast of musicians as her touring band. She's since taken this band, along with her two albums worth of material, out on the road sharing her tales of dark yet beautiful lyrical poetry to open arms across Europe and the US, leaving behind a long line of sold out shows and critical acclaim.
In October Sargent House will be releasing an albums worth of Chelsea Wolfe acoustic material; recordings of new songs and others she's been working on and presenting intermittently at various solo shows over the years.
In 2013 Wolfe will follow up the acoustic album with her third official studio album (as yet untitled), also to be released on Sargent House.
Until then, please welcome Chelsea Wolfe and her band to Australia this November for a select number of headline shows in all major cities.
Special guests will be the Melbourne post-punk/goth five piece Heirs, who have just released their new album "Hunter."
The Holy Soul aka the nicest band ever aka "one of Sydney's most interesting and versatile rock bands" will be opening the night.
