Fun workshop for kids 5–14 years to learn the basics of ceramic handbuilding from 2 of our experienced young students .

Come and join in the fun in this 2-hour taster workshop teaching kids the basics of ceramic handbuilding.

Led by talented students from our regular after-school children's ceramics program in collaboration with our experienced tutors, kids will get their hands dirty to make a ceramic creature.

They'll step the kids through the theory, design and making of a simple pinch pot creature. By getting hands on, kids will learn about the properties of clay and simple techniques used to join clay pieces together.

By the end of the workshop, the kids will have made a fantastic creature ready to be fired. Fired pieces can be collected from Pine Street 2 weeks after the workshop.

This is a great opportunity for complete beginners or any children who are interested in learning how to make ceramics.

Class size: maximum 10 child

What to bring: yourself - all materials provided

What to wear: Comfortable clothing that you don't mind to get a bit dirty in or bring an apron (ceramics can get messy!)

The class is fully supervised by 2 adult tutors, so parents are not required to stay for the duration of the workshop.
