Island soul, Afro rhythms, smooth harmony, coconuts, pop and good vibes

Queensland's latest world class offering is taking the Australian roots music scene by storm. He'll be grooving his way to The Rhythm Hut for the second time on November 28th.

Bobby Alu is the musical alter ego of Charles Wall, an accomplished songwriter, multi-instrumentalist,
and producer. His Polynesian heritage and passion for World music are the foundations of Bobby
Alu.

An obsession with percussion and drums has led to him being one of the top, most sought-after drummers in the country. When he's not gracing the stages as Bobby Alu, Wall is touring the world as a drummer. He's just returned from playing drums with Xavier Rudd on his North American and Australian tour and continues collaborating with progressive roots/dance trio, OKA.

Bobby Alu's third ever gig was an invitation to the 2011 Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival alongside the likes of Bob Dylan and BB King. More recently the album peaked at #2 in the iTunes Aus world music charts. 'Take it Slow' is the band's eagerly anticipated second album and is due for release in September 2013. Fans have been waiting patiently especially after the recent sell-out single launch packing venues out across the country.

Opening for Bobby is local groovy band, Manana.
Manana's music is a unique blend of pop, reggae and roots, creating a natural sound that is ear pleasing to literally anyone. This is because the band writes music as a collective of musicians, not as a single one. Ma ana are constantly critiquing and developing their music, granting them a sharp, refined sound; sure to grab your attention.
