Always been a secret fan of the "Big Banana" or "Giant Prawn"? - or been obsessed with "professional wrestling"? Join us for a night of live music and films celebrating the funny & quirky side of independent Australian cinema. Meet the filmmakers, creatives and musicians that created these awardwinning "larger than life" films

Big Dreamers (PG)

Australia's comedic documentary Big Dreamers has returned from sold out screenings around the US festival circuit. Australia loves its big roadside attractions: Coffs Harbour has the Big Banana, Robertson its Big Potato and Ballina a Giant Prawn.  In 2003 the Queensland town of Tully decided it wanted in. In an effort to lift tourism - and the regions spirits Tullys Rotary Club commissioned local artists to design and build a Giant Gumboot, to symbolize its claim of being the wettest town in Australia

"It's a funny film about a very serious subject.

(Camille Hardman, Director Big Dreamers)

Lovestruck: Wrestling’s No.1 Fan (PG)

Wrestling's No. 1 Fan is an independent documentary about Australia's "No. 1" wrestling fan, Sue Chuter. Sue is in her 50's, lives in Melbourne and for the last 35 years has dedicated her life to following professional wrestling. More than obsessed, she simply lives wrestling. Almost everything in her life revolves around the sport, from ringing wrestlers for their birthday to meeting them at the airport to wallpapering her house with portraits posters and memorabilia.
