Returning from playing festivals in Russia and Japan, world renowned multi media artist and multi instrumentalist Benjamin Skepper will fuse the classical with future landscapes, performing classics from his catalog of 5 independent releases and new compositions, in a rare and intimate extended audiovisual showcase.

The first Artist in Resident at Science Gallery Melbourne culminating in an experimental performance for the opening of the inaugural Blood exhibition in August, Skepper's multidisciplinary research into the intersection between Art and Culture + Science and Medicine sees him breaking new ground. Last year Skepper became the first Australian employed by the Moscow State Conservatory, as he continues research into the area of music and genetics. And now, with the world's first digital stethoscope, Skepper is developing a new multi media mega-stopper "Pumping Blood", and he invites you to sample the fruits of his various new creative research projects connecting Melbourne, Moscow and Tokyo.

Joined by long time collaborator Tomoya Kishimoto, the duo will install 10 visual projectors in the space, to create a full scale immersive audio visual extravaganza, delighting your senses and challenging your limits of perception. The pair have performed live at MOFO (2013), the Corner Hotel and The Toff, and the architecturally designed Howler will provide the perfect environment for their next site specific installation.

As is customary with Skepper's art events, the evening will also feature a living art installation by Rosaria Darling (Jessica Skepper), creating her 3rd installation, part of the ongoing contrapuntal collaborations between the prodigious Skepper siblings. Local guest DJ selectors TBA / /
