The Garden Party presents
Axolotl / Brous / The Bamboos
It's the funk-off fabulous opening night of The Garden Party. Get here and get down with The Bamboos and more.
AXOLOTL
Axolotl create cinematic, lush and layered sounds. Paired with lyrical songwriting, Axolotl create sweeping yet delicate tunes that creep up on you.
BROUS
Brous is defined by the extraordinarily expressive vocals of Sophia Brous and is supported by a band of formidable musicians. Equal part exotica diva and pop auteur, Brous weaves together a mesmerising palette of 60s soundtrack fetishism, shimmering psychedelia and industrial lounge, with nods to pop traditions stretching from Japan to Brazil to Eastern Europe - stunning melodies all crowned by Brous' extraordinarily powerful voice.
THE BAMBOOS
What better way to begin a month of Summer parties than with The Bamboos? Lance Ferguson and his nine piece outfit The Bamboos have come a long way since forming in 2001 with their own blend of raw funk born of the 60s and early 70s. Now toasted as one of the greatest funk and soul bands of our time, they are the perfect weekend kick-starter.
"They are about as good as it gets... " - Mark Lamarr BBC Radio 2 (U.K)
