'ARIONA - Celebrate the Vibrancy of Sri Lanka' returns this year at Riverlife Kangaroo Point on Thursday December 13, with a colourful showcase of Sri Lankan culture, heritage, fashion, food and music. While introducing various facets of Sri Lankan identity to the greater Brisbane audience, Ariona aims to promote the values of peace and reconciliation throughout every facet of the event.
As an annual celebration of all things Sri Lankan, Ariona extends an invitation to the greater Brisbane community. With a wide variety of food encompassing Sri Lankan street food, modern Sri Lankan fashions, fusion music and dance amid vibrant traditional decor the festival promises to display the diverse cultures that make up the Sri Lankan community.
ARIONA hopes to introduce people of non Sri Lankan backgrounds to the Sri Lankan story. The event aims to encourage understanding and acceptance of Sri Lankans in to the wider Brisbane community.
Cultural events such as 'ARIONA - Celebrate the Vibrancy of Sri Lanka' play an important role in the life of communities by preserving and sharing cultural traditions, fostering unity and camaraderie, and forging communal pride. It also provides an important opportunity to appreciate the ethnic lushness present in the Brisbane Community.
The event combines old traditions with the new and evolving culture reflecting the Sri Lankan ethos that is deep rooted in its traditions and at the same time continuously experimenting and adapting to modernity. ' ARIONA -Experience Celebrate the Vibrancy of Sri Lanka' opens to a bold synthesis of Sri Lankan dance and music in the backdrop of the fabulous Kangaroo point views at 6.:30pm on Thursday December 13.
Tickets priced at $25pp (+BF). include unlimited serves of popular Sri Lankan street foods and two non-alcoholic beverages. The event is funded by Multicultural Affairs Qld and sponsored by Kuweni; a contemporary clothing line inspired by Sri Lankan Culture, traditions and history.
