FRIDAY 20 JULY 2018

THE JADE
142-160 Flinders Street, Adelaide SA 5000

On July 20 as part of the Umbrella Winter City Sounds Festival, The Jade will be hosting two local folk queens. This special show is not to be missed!

Alycia Budd is a singer-songwriter from Adelaide, South Australia. Inspired by storytellers such as Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Laura Marling, Feist and PJ Harvey, she explores the nature of mind and human experience with serenading guitar tunes and delicate yet powerfully dynamic vocals.

With stories drenched in imagery of natural landscapes, Alycia's music is an original and alternative blend of folk, blues, and country. She released her debut album 'Constellations' in 2016 before heading abroad to live and perform in the UK and is now back in Adelaide working on her next release.

Elli Belle's indie folk tunes combine thoughtful lyrics, soulful melodies & an utterly unique voice of exquisite range. She is truly captivating. "Haunting and ethereal" - the AU Review.   Elli's solo career started after she hitch-hiked to Darwin with her guitar as a twenty- two year old. She booked her first gig at Music NT's annual Music Industry Conference in Alice Springs, met Melbourne-based producer, Anna Laverty and together recorded her debut EP.   Since then she has received extensive airplay and supported notable acts such as Thelma Plum and James Morrison. She has played at music venues and festivals across Australia and Europe, and earned her spot as a finalist in Telstra's Road to Discovery (a national songwriting competition for emerging artists) as well as at the NT Song of the Year Awards two years in a row.   Elli recently moved back to Adelaide after spending a year in Berlin and is the current recipient of Moshtix and Music SA's Female Music Industry Scholarship. She is recording new material and can't wait to tour again. Keep an eye out for her!
