Ben Wright Smith and Ali Barter are hitting the road together for some very special double-headline shows, each celebrating a brand new release. Barter will be launching her new EP, 'AB-EP', featuring singles 'Hypercolour' and 'Blood', and Wright Smith will be launching his single, 'Born Yawning'.

Ben Wright Smith and Ali Barter have a musical history. With a combined love for southern American roots, 90s grunge and 60s psych-folk, the two have been writing songs and performing on stages in Melbourne's ever-fertile live music scene for some years. 

After collaborating on Ben Wright Smith's 2013 single 'Sinners In Bloom', produced by their close friend Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy), Barter and Wright Smith came back together on Wright Smith's breakthrough single 'No One', in early 2015. Demoing the song in the winter of 2014 in a 'big, old, empty house' in the rolling hills of central Victoria, Ali sings the trademark vocal hook present in the single, which saw Wright Smith added to triple j rotation and touring the country. 

After Barter released her brand new single 'Hypercolour' in June 2015, Wright Smith has followed with a banger of his own, entitled 'Born Yawning'. This new tune, produced by Dawson, again features guest vocals from Barter, and as Ben says, '...to me, playing songs with Ali comes naturally because we've both come from the same place musically in many ways. If I'm singing a song I want Ali to be singing there with me'. 

With a virtually identical band of collaborators joining them on both their recordings and now in their live shows (with Andrew Braidner on drums, Tyler Millott and bass, Nick Lam on guitar and Dawson on guitar), it seems only natural for this 'happy family' to get together for a pair of co-headline shows. Barter states, '...I've said it a million times; Ben is my favourite songwriter. I've wanted to tour with him for ages so I'm super pumped about these shows!'.

Barter will be launching her new EP, 'AB-EP', and Wright Smith will be launching his single, 'Born Yawning'. The two will be together on stage together, and have a few surprises in store.
