The sweet yet powerfully voiced Alex Gibson presents his debut album.

Every so often, over the dim roar of background noise, through the clutter of sound, a lone voice rises above it all. Having honed his skills busking in the streets of Sydney, Alex Gibson has such a voice. Compared to City & Colour's Dallas Green, he has a sound that is at once sweet and sultry, and absolutely heartfelt.

Inspired by artists like Paul Simon, The Beatles, and Stevie Wonder, his music is extremely melodic, soulful and energetic. In 2011, he went into the studio and recorded a live album with his band. Now, after cutting his teeth opening for artists like The Black Sorrows and Mental As Anything, as well as playing countless shows of his own at events like Vivid and Market By Moonlight, or venues like The Brass Monkey and Lizotte's, Alex is ready to present his music at The Basement, and launch his debut album.

Opening for Alex is Sydney favourite Gene Fehlberg. Gene offers up diverse musical styles, creating a sound that is unexampled, appealing, melodious and natural.
