Three of Adelaide's premier award-winning musicians join forces to pay tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time... Cream.
The combination of Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker almost singlehandedly created the blues-rock genre in a fiery explosion of soul drenched blues, electrifyingly technical mastery and mind-blowing intensity. Their music is still as influential and inspirational as it was in the late 1960's, with the songs "Sunshine of Your Love", "White Room", "I Feel Free" and "Strange Brew" regarded as some of the most classic and iconic songs ever recorded.
Guitarist "Sweet Baby" James Meston, Drummer Rob Eyers and Bassist Denis Surmon grew up inspired by and learning Cream's music, which formed a huge basis of their own sound. "When I first heard Clapton play, it was one of the most life-changing experiences ever", said James. "His work with Cream especially grabbed me.. the solo from 'Crossroads' is like being caught in a hurricane!".
"At the Tribute to Cream show, we not only want to capture the songs and sound, but definitely the intensity of the way they played... it's going to be amazing show, I can't wait!".
