LUPE FIASCOLupe Fiasco kick-pushed his way to the top of the hip-hop charts the world over with his 2006 debut 'Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor', and in the process managed to earn himself a whopping three Grammy nominations the following year. Dubbed by critics 'a hip-hop Generation Next vanguard' and by the almighty Jay-Z as 'a breath of fresh air' there ain't much this lyrical genius can't do. While never catering to the masses, Lupe Fiasco certainly knows how to blow them away; in 2010 he'll do just that. |

THE POLY PHONIC SPREEThe self described 'choral symphonic rock' collective is set to sprinkle a little purity, hope and happiness on this year's festival-goers, and a whole lot of '70s-inspired, sunny, experimental rock tunes. They wowed David Bowie in all their live glory, and all 20 of them will wow us too. |

the cribsDIY attitude and lo-fi indie sounds, what you see is what you get with these four English lads at the 2010 Playground Weekender. Coined by Britain's Q Magazine as 'the biggest cult band in the UK', it's little wonder the ex-The Smith guitarist Johnny Marr wanted a piece of the cake when he jumped on board the band last year. Currently touring their new album 'Ignore the Ignorant', expect one hell of a roucous and unpreddictable live experience. |

The Brian Jonestown massacreFancy a bit of shoegazing? A bit of psychedelia with songs of Charles manson and Jim Jones? The head on over to The Brian Jonestown massacre set when the ever-outspoken front man and founder Anton Newcombe electrifies Playground Weekender 2010. Expanding minds since the early 1990's, the San Francisco five-piece band deliver experimental space-rock sounds that will leave you entranced. |

Jamie LidellBlue-eyed soul brother Jamie Lidell bring his one-man-beatboxing band to the 2010 Playground Weekender after taking out this year's Eighth Annual Independant Music Awards for the 2008 pop/rock gem 'Jim'. Coming full circle in the soul genre after dabbling in the electronica realm since the late '90s, Lidell has successfully blossomed into a highly-regarded producer and solo artist, first sealing the deal with 2005's 'Multiply'. Chanelling Smokey Robinson, Sly Stone and the classic funk of the '60s abd '70s, Lidell is making the world sit up and take notice. |

STEVE LAWLERAfter 17 years of ruling the progressive house scene, Steve Lawler is more than just a DJ and a producer, he has been nicknamed the 'King of Space Ibiza'. Still very much at the top of his game, the Birmingham lad has remixed high profile artists and worked with world-reknowed dance imprints like Global Underground and Bedrock, with last year's original relase '21st Century Ketchup' ending up a runaway success at the 2008 Miami Winter Music Conference. The true essence of progression comes our way at the Playground Weekender 2010. |
